Dr. Ian S Burron

Dr. Ian S.Burron holds a Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy) from the University of Manitoba. Dr. Burron is certified by the Canadian College of Family Physicians in both Family and Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Burron completed a diploma in addiction medicine through the British Columbia Centre on Substance Abuse and is one of only 3 physicians in the province of Manitoba to be Board Certified in Obesity Medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. 

As a former practicing physiotherapist Dr. Burron understands the importance of exercise in the prevention and management of chronic disease/obesity. Dr. Burron has extensive experience in exercise assessment and prescription and has performed over 1000 exercise treadmill tests as a practicing physician in the Cardiology Department at Selkirk Regional Health Centre. Dr. Burron is passionate about helping patients with lifestyle modification including diet and exercise for the management of body weight, chronic disease, mental health, and addiction.

Kathy Ladd, Registered Dietitian

Kathy Ladd, Dietitian

Kathy is a registered dietitian with over 30 years of experience, which she gained working at the Health Sciences Centre in the areas of Rehab, Medicine and Orthopaedics.  After chancing upon a radio program featuring a physician who was an expert in low carb nutrition and intermittent fasting, she became interested in this way of eating and began to delve further into the science behind it.  She learned how it improved metabolic health, mental health and could counteract a vast number of other diseases. Although low carb was against everything she had learned as a dietitian, Kathy decided to change her way of eating and began a low carb, healthy fat (LCHF) diet over 3 years ago.  At the time she was experiencing chronic joint and low back pain, and her mom had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.  Since making this change to her diet, her pain has significantly improved and she continues with this lifestyle to minimize her risk of chronic diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease. 

Kathy is passionate about low carb nutrition and would like to help you experience the many benefits it has to offer.  She has completed her certification in low LCHF for Dietitians.  Kathy is also certified in LCHF for health promotion and medical nutrition therapy.

Andrea Scott

Andrea Scott holds a BSc.MH (Mental Health) from the State University of New York-Empire State College and is a RSW (Registered Social Worker) with the Manitoba College of Social Workers. She has many years of experience in both the Regional Health Authority as a Mental Health Intensive Case Manager and in the Non-Profit sector as Executive Director of a Family Resource Center, plus past experience as the Director of Community and Family Services with The Salvation Army. Currently, she is a nutrition education coach with MD Lifestyle Solutions where her passion is in empowering people to embrace the Low Carb Healthy Fat lifestyle and live life to the fullest! She values personal growth, is a lifelong proponent of prevention education, and continues to mentor those who are on their educational journey.
